About the Packing Line
PackagingCompliance.help is an independent publication about one law: Regulation (EU) 2025/40, the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation.
The regulation is long, technical and written for lawyers. The people it obliges are mostly not lawyers: they are brand owners choosing a pouch, importers booking freight, marketplace sellers listing a product, packers setting a line. This desk exists to close that gap. We read the articles, the annexes and the Commission's guidance, and we explain - in the order a packing line runs - what each obligation is, when it starts, and which role carries it.
What we are not
We are not a regulator, a consultancy or a law firm, and nothing here is legal advice or a compliance determination for any individual company. Where a guide states an obligation, it attributes the statement to the article that creates it, so a reader can check the claim against the EUR-Lex text in one step. Companies deciding their own position should take advice on their own facts.
How guides are made
Each guide is written from primary sources, carries the date it was last checked against the regulation text, and opens with a label check summarising the article, the obligation, the start date and who acts. If the law changes, the affected guides change and the corrections page records it. If we get something wrong, the same page is where the fix is announced.
